Saint George

Our parish is a part of the Russian Orthodox Church, whose current first hierarch is Patriarch Kirill of Moscow. He became Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus' and Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on February 1, 2009. Prior to becoming Patriarch, Kirill was Archbishop (later Metropolitan) of Smolensk and Kaliningrad beginning on December 26, 1984, and also Chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church's Department for External Church Relations and a permanent member of the Holy Synod beginning in 1989.

Metropolit Nikolai

We are part of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, whose first hierarch is Metropolitan Nicholas of New York and Eastern America.

Saint George

The parish is located in the Western American Diocese, led by archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America. Kyrill of San Francisco was appointed ruling hierarch of the Western American Diocese in 2002. In 2003 he was elevated to the rank of archbishop. The same year he participated in the first official delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia to Russia, which opened the process of reconciliation with the Moscow Patriarchate.

Bishop Pheodosy

Our deanery, the northwest deanery, is led by bishop Theodosy of Seattle. Bishop Theodosius was consecrated on September 7, 2008, at the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow". On January 6-9 2009, Bishop Theodosius visited his cathedral in Seattle, WA, Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral, for the first time. He officiated Nativity Vigil and Liturgy, met with parishioners, the cathedral youth and later visited the All-Merciful Savior Monastery on Vashon Island.

Father Michail

Our rector is archpriest Michael van Opstall. Fr. Michael is a father of four, a professor of mathematics at the University of Utah, and a composer of choral music. He completed the Pastoral School of the Chicago Diocese in 2007.
